What motor drive do I need for my Minolta X370n. I understand there are different drives for the models?
Please be specific if you know the answer. I know that it says to use motor drive 1, but I was told that there are different ones for different models. Thanks!!
The Minolta X370n can use two different types:
"Auto Winder G" which is only a "box" that screws into the bottom of the camera. It's relatively slow at 2 frames per second.
and / or:
"Motor Drive MD-1" which also has a grip along with shutter releases for horizontal and vertical shooting. It's also faster at 3.5 frames per second.
In my opinion the MD-1 is the way to go. The grip is awesome, and you might as well get the speed. I've worked with many cameras, Canon's, Nikon's and others, and of them all, the MD-1 grip has been my favorite...
On Ebay, the Winder G has sold for $15-40 in the past, the MD-1 has sold for anywhere between $80-100.
