Do all Nikon lenses have plastic lens mounts?
I have a D90 and two of the three plastic lens mounts have broken off of the 18-105 mm kit lens. I am replacing the lens because of this and the blades on the inside have been damaged. I would like to replace with a Nikon lens, but I am new to DSLRs and I am still learning. So, I do not want to invest a fortune right now until I learn more, but I also would like to avoid the plastic lens mount if possible. Any suggestions?
So far the only plastic mount Nikon (Nikkor) lens I know are:
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
18-105mm f/3.5-5.6
55-200mm f/4-5.6
and 18-135mm (not too sure about this one, can't remember).
The rest of the lineup are using metal mount.
Suggestions, hmm, there are people who says the 16-85mm is overpriced, which I do agree a little. But I have that lens and it's superb. You don't have much of a choice, if you want to "upgrade", it's either to a 16-85mm or a 18-200mm. Both cost quite a lot, but a good choice.
