What lens should i use for macro photography?
I need to shoot macro and i have sigma zoon 28-80mm lens. I see on craigslist for sale: minolta macro Zoom Lens 75-200mm. Are those the kind i need or will mine work also. OR which other ones could be good.
I am shooting for a film class so i cant preview before i print
Macro lenses are what you need to use.
Zoom "marco" lenses are not really macro in that they cannot usually resolve down to the image to subject ration of 1:1 to 1:2 range and do NOT produce a good flat field image. Zoom lenses always have some kind of either pincushion or barrel distortion, however marco lenses are designed to have NONE of that kind of issue
Look for a good used Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro, Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro D or Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro RS lens instead. I you nave the budget, I would recommend the Sony - AF DT 30 F2.8 Macro SAM
